I undertook 3 trips in delhi metro. Viewed objectively first lacuna is that though escalators are there to go from one platfrom to another there are no escalators to enter the station from outside tye system. this is poor planning. Secondly once I traveled from delhi junction to new delhi railway station with luggge where I felt the need of thescalators to enter station.
The position of mtero station at delhi jn could have ben better aligned to Delhi junction with an escalator taking fro Delhi junction to metro station.
Compared to Mumbai suburbantrains where 6+6 12 passengers occupy the seats in direction of movement of train thee Delhi metro has few seats with direction perpendicular to train movement. this leads to standing travel for commuters. had there been inflx like Mumbai suburban service many passengers would be forced to travel standing even though compartment has space for many seats. Rather than carrying passengers standing service should carry commuters travelling on seats and lesser standees. Also for comfort the seats should be in direction of train movement.
Neverheless Metro is a boon. only if the above points are well noted we mistakes wil not be repeated in metro for Mumbai.
