I bought DELL Inspiron S535 from a Bangalore - Jayanagr dealer. Dealer name is : SOGO (A division of Sogo Retail Management Pvt. Ltd., ). It is opposite to Nandini restaurant and Swapna book house).
I would like all prospectus buyers to have the fine print of the deal. Dealer promises that one year onsite warranty. Twist here is, you (the end customer) have to find out which part is not working on your own, even if you do not have required instruments. Read my experience.
After I buying Inspiron S series, after two days, some sort of noise started coming inside desktop. I called dealer. He washed off his hands by giving me a 1-800 number. I tried this 1-800 number. It took 97 minutes to reach support engineer.
By the way, there is a twist here in this 1-800 number also. If none (on the DELL side) replies in 30 minutes call will get automatically disconnected, after 30 minutes of your precious time. Finally in my fourth attempt I reached customer support engineer. He told me the shocking news.
There are five parts in your desktop which can make noise. You have to open up the box and find out which one of these five parts is making noise. Then my engineer will come and replace. When I said, I do not have required instruments to open up.. He started revealing about DELL business model. He said, he would send engineer to find out which part is making noise. But it would cost INR 1300. What kind of support I got and you are going to get.
I request all prospectus buyers of DELL INSPIRON to be aware of this trap here.Guys, if you are an engineer to fix yourself, you can assemble PC on your own. I came to know, some parts of the computers have varying periods of warranty. But DELL gives only one year. For example I heard that, Intel gives more than 3 years warranty for its Micro Processor. But DELL gives only one year.
Your desktop value is coming down, if you buy from DELL, actually you land up paying more (much more) than the desktop, you can assemble yourself.Do not waste your money on DELL product for this Diwali, Thanks giving or Christmas or New year or Sankranti / Pongal festivals.
