Brilliant Movie Let Down By Editing & Screenplay!

This film, set in the 1940s of Calcutta, opens to a brilliant backdrop of Calcutta and amazing cinematography. This is enough for a person to get all excited and glued to the screen for the movie indeed is a visual extravaganza. Especially for the ones who love detailing and period movies. For me it was a moment of pride too as one of India’s few great detective fictional characters was on the silver screen and that too with some unbelievable cinematography and amazing background score.

The story will, honestly, not keep you gripped as it is almost an open plot but the cinema on the whole is a treat to watch. The costume designer, the make up artist & the music composer has done an amazing job.

The editing has killed the movie and this kind of direction was not expected from Dibaakar Bannerjee.

The man of the match(movie) is Nikos Andritsakis, the cinematographer!
