Detective Byomkesh Bakshy is a Hindi film directed by Dibakar Bannerjee and starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Swastika Mukherjee and Anand Tiwari, among others.
I saw the movie after its release at a movieplex and it was, sadly, a total waste of money.
The very image, and the idea, of Byomkesh Bakshi created by Saradindu Bandopadhyay made one of the most liked detectives of Bengali literature.
The film utterly destroyed the image of Byomkesh Bakshi and the plot was more that of an commercial hindi action film rather than being that of a true detective story.
The acting prowess shown by the actors were okayish.
However, Sushant Singh Rajput’s novice-like portrayal of the celebrated detective made the film all the more unbearable.
Also, the movie featured violence at several points, which was absolutely unnecessary.
