Dev D : truly an emotional atyachaar

I feel 1 out of every three films is a disappointment, lately the ratio has changed for worse. When I saw Yuvraaj, I felt there could not be anything horrible than this but Dev D has successfully scored more on this account. The movie is all about a spoilt brat – Abhay Deol turning Devdas of the modern era.

I am still trying to figure out what message was being conveyed in the movie, the shots are all taken either in bars or in brothels where Dev D is buying liquor or drugs and the movie has no theme. The only highlight of the movie is the “Patna ke Presley- Tera emotional“ video but watching the entire movie is too big a torture just for that one song.

The actress is not good looking at all – at least a beautiful face can give you some consolation to sit in the hall. Abhay Deol’s character is rather shameless kinds, it would actually put the original Devdas to shame if he sees the kind of image that is being portrayed of him. The movie made me feel more depressed when I came out of the hall.

And if Mr. Boyle, gave some help in the movie direction as he has been given a special thanks in the beginning of the movie, I am sure his motive was something else. The rating given to the movie is fudged-don’t trust me, try watching the movie for just 15 minutes and judge yourself.
