While looking for home stays in Chikmagalur I came across one called Devigudda Retreat. I called up and booked a room for 1500 rupees per night.
I wasn’t expecting much and all I was looking was for a break from the city mayhem. When I reached there I realised that the home stay is in a place called Mudigere, which is 20 min away from Chikmagalur city. That was even better for me.
The location of this home stay is excellent and is adjacent to a coffee estate. And there is an actual place called Devigudda.
Don’t ever miss this place. Most of the day I went fishing in a nearby lake but the evening sunset from Devigudda (which is a peak) is awesome. Just never felt like coming back...
There are many things you can do in and around like see mountain streams, visit some fort ruins, and even go rafting in a river. But I was more pleased with the relaxed natural beauty around me. I am back with some wonderful memories and a fresh mind at work.
Conclusion: Don’t go there if you are looking to stay inside... well actually if you are planning to stay inside then as well don’t go anywhere J. But this is a place where you can experience nature in its bliss and carry some memories along. Worth a visit once in your lifetime.
