Deranged Relationships

Anybody who consistently makes movies like Raja Hindustani , Mela and Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya ought to be a stark raving lunatic servant to the formula. Each of them are more loud, more senseless, more ridiculous than the other. The temples of hamming. Dharmesh Darshan is defn the baap of all hamming movie A fluke hit in the form of “ Raja Hindustani “ – and even this was an “ inspired “ version of Jab Jab Phool Khile - made his career. Ever since then he started believing that he is some kind of a great director, which he clearly is not.

He believes in making “ Emotional “ movies – in other words films where the heroine and in some cases even the hero weeps all day long !! In the past, director Dharmesh Darshan has packaged Jab Jab Phool Khile as Raja Hindustani, Caravan as Mela and Gumraah as Bewafaa. This time he picks the Debra Messing-Dermot Mulroney starrer to do the needful AAP KE KHATIR is an absolute copy of THE WEDDING DATE. Dharmesh Darshan is the most unpredictable film director in the world. He starts off with very well with ’Lootere’ And follows it up with a highly successful ’Raja Hindustani’.

After these two films, he became one of the most sought after directors, he then gets Aamir Khan signed and makes ’Mela’, I really want to use verbal abuse. But I will not waste my time on it. I honestly had no hope with ’Dhadkan’. After all you don’t take action heroes Akshay Kumar & Sunil Shetty, and then make a love triangle. To my shock, he actually made a great film and even got Sunil Shetty actually perform exceedingly well. Honestly, after watching ’Dhadkan’ I believed that ’Mela’ was just a experiment gone wrong,

But I was wrong because he followed the well made and performed ’Dhadkan’ with ’Haan, Maine Bhi Pyar kiya’. In ’Haan, Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya’ the only good thing from a 3 hour film was a song called ’Mubarak ho Tumko’. Every wedding I go to have this song playing. I remember this film was released on Valentines Day in 2002 and I had taken my ex-girlfriend to watch this - late show. I still cannot believe that I had taken her to the cinema and actually sit through the whole film rather than some hotel room. She dumped me the next day! So I have my personal reasons to hate this film.

It was crap & I got dumped! Now comes ’Bewafaa’. I don’t know whether any of you people sit through a film and think "where did the money go?” I’ll tell you, the money went on a rubbish fake moustache for Akki, overdone makeup for Kareena, and clothes for Manoj Bajpai to make him look like the 1000th richest man in India (whatever). I wish they had spent some money on a dialogue writer. Some of the dialogues in this film were very cringe worthy. Example, Kareena Kapoor, at the beginning "Mama, let me sleep some more!"

Anil Kapoor looked like Harry Potter. Manoj Bajpai’s name is DIL - LOL. And he was so rubbish in the film that I believe that if Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee (former prime minister of India) did this role, he would have performed it better. Kareena Kapoor looks sad throughout the whole film - I mean come on, even if you are having a extra marital affair atleast smile for the audience. And all this is the directors fault. Now I hear he is making ’Aap Ki Khatir’ with Akshaye Khanna, Sunil Shetty, Dino Morea, Priyanka Chopra, Amisha Patel - Nice cast! It seems like a very promising film BUT please my fellow forum members, dont expect much from the film because the director is DD! Dharmesh Darshan is a case of ’what could have been’
