I sent 2 cars(Wagon R and Honda City) from Mumbai to Kolkata. I have used the services of other packers and movers twice before but never had any trouble. DHL Movers & Packers was a different story altogether.
I requested for a quote and yes they gave the most competitive quote(32k for both cars). Other movers were asking for upwards of 35k. I decided to go ahead with DHL and I regret I did. It took them 2 weeks to bring the cars to Kolkata(more on that later) Both cars were damaged when I received them. My Honda is a brand new car, and they ruined the front left side of the bumper. The car was damaged from below and the cheapsters actually used tape to hold the fog lamps in place! You can only imagine my outrage. I spent 10k to rectify the damage as insurance would not cover it.
The wagon R was in worse shape. The front bumper was split in 2 and the radiator was damaged. Clearly, the cars were not straped in place in the truck / tempo / whatever it is they carry the cars in. The estimated expense on the Wagon R is upwards of 15k. I shiver at the though on how the cars were handled.
Moreover, the cars went from Mumbai to Delhi and then to Kolkata. They could have been to other cities for all I know.
As you can see, it was stupid of me to go for these movers for a difference of approx 5k. Go for better ones. I would actually advise you to drive it to the destination. it is safer. Please stay away from these crooks! I would give them zero stars if I could. Be advised.
