Dhoom 2 starts with Hritik doing a stunt and doing what he is supposed to (i.e. steal things). And then there is the dance, it just shows what makes Hritik so special! There are many flaws in the movies, and 7, 500 characters are perhaps not enough to describe ‘em all. I have condensed the review a lot.
The first half of the movie is pretty boring actually, most of it could have, and should have been cut, the part with Rimmi Sen was totally unnecessary. One thing you will find very, very strange is that an International Case is given not to CBI or even CID but to the Assistant Commissioner of Police! WTF???? But ok, maybe AB baba is a Don, very good at his job. In fact he is shown to be such a big Don that he figures out stuff, that all of Interpol and the rest of the police force could not figure out in years; in a matter of a few minutes!! Ise kehte hai naa Big B ka Big Beta ;)
Then as the first half drags on and is coming to an end, Hritik manages to steal what he has to steal and get away (That’s one of the good parts of the movie), right under AB’s nose. But the best part is that AB is after Hritik with a sniper gun and clearly trying to shoot to kill, but later when he is talking to Bipasha he says “main mujrimo ka shikaar nahi karna chahta.” WTF??? ;)Khair a few more minutes and the first half ends. Thankfully!!
The second half is in sexy Brazil where we come to meet Bipasha’s dumb twin sister.
Bipasha I must say was not required in the movie, neither as the cop in the first half and definitely not as the dumb sister in the second half! In the second half we see Aish, oh how lovely she looks!! And she’s exposed a lot!!! But all that amounts to crap when she opens her mouth….. Such a big freakin disappointment!! Anyways you get to see a lot of Brazil… They even put in one of the fiestas in the movie.. The cinematography is decent, I still don’t understand why AB has to go and tell Hritik who he is before the end of the movie. And then there is the song which has Hritik on one end and AB at the other. Hritik dances well enough to easily overshadow AB. In fact you notice in the movie that AB can not dance…;)
Then finally when the bike scenes come; some of ‘em scenes are clearly copied from Mi:2, but ok decent enough… I for one had gone to see the movie for the bikes. And I was terribly disappointed on that end. Hritik does make up for it though. But the rest of the crew is just jumping around, throughout the movie. The ending was good though, a slight twist in the story..Khair since Hritik has done a good job, the movie is worth a one time watch. Kripya apna dimaag ghar pe rakh ke jaiye, galti se bhi picture dekhte hue uska upyog na kare, ye aapke liye aur ticket bechne waale ke liye kafi haani karak sabit ho sakta hai…
But you know what? The movie is a SUCCESS in a certain way……It successfully makes you feel like going to BRAZIL!!! ;)
(The other day I had written a review on Dhoom 2 and I got comments which said that the review was too small. I agree with that judgment and have tried to come up with a wholesome review this time. Hope you like it)
