A 3 hour long marketing campaign!

Welcome to the world of Yash Raj films aka marketing giants. their films of late always make me feel they are better off at publicity and promotional campaigns while they forget the major thing a movie requires - a good story n quality cinematic experience.

They didnt let me down this time again. Whatever notions or misunderstandings of them as businessmen which I had doubted has finally got cleared.. coz Yash Raj films once again prove that they are best at producing good looking , attractive products, rather than superior films..

Dhoom 2 being no exception, is the peak of YRF manipulation.. which starts off nicely, loses a bit of focus by the interval, and screws itself up badly by the time it ends.. and during the journey keeps on confusing us what the film actually aims at? Who is the actual villain? Is it the "Imaandaar" thief Hritik Roshan" or the "beimaan" cop Abhishek.. Was Abhishek really the villain in the film.. that he didnt allow poor international thief Hritik Roshan to carry out his tasks in peace, and without indulgence..

Why the sympathy towards Hritik Roshan? Coz poor guy was betrayed by lady love who was helping the cops catch a criminal?

and finally the ending.. the mother of "what the f" climaxes.. so the international criminal aka the hero/good guy was let free by the villain Abhishek who gets reformed in the end.. I think it has something to do with the "sachha pyaar" of HR-Ash..

the film stretches along without any purpose in second half, where characters are not needed but introduced just to attract oohs and aahs from the audience.. Monali Bose aka Bips judwaa sister cant speak hindi, understands the screwed up language of Uday Chopra but cant understand a word Abhi says.. Ash is a great looker but brings her sex appeal to a embarassing low coz of her "Oh Im so cool" so called attitude with an irritating voice.. Now comes poor Abhishek, I feel really sorry for him after people started praising HR like anything.. coz I do feel junior Bachchan does a fairly good job here.. But yes, there’s something seriously wrong with his looks in some parts of the film, and the same goes for his dressing sense as well..

while on the other hand, HR gets the backup of his stylist, hair designer, dress designer and an awesome background score which explodes whenever he is shown walking with style n charisma in the opening of any scene.. his looks, body, attitude and star power is exploited to maximum extent by the makers, that it was quite natural for him to steal the show..

Dhoom 2 is nothing but an ongoing promotional video and a 3 hour long advertising campaign where characters break into a dance number at regular intervals..

My girlfriend kicked my a** ...I need to dance to show my frustrations

I was successful with an impossible robbery.. I need to dance to celebrate

I am getting a hard on watching a b on beach .. I have to dance to fulfill my desires

Today I talked to my biggest enemy... Lets all dance--(Dunno why)

It has its moments though.. The stealings shown in Part 1 were interesting to watch, fairly interesting.. but the film starts losing its appeal after the entry of Ash (Panauti) and falls flat in 2nd half completely.. even the theft of the coins (HR and Ash dressed up as dwarfs) was idiotic to say the least..

the final chase between HR and Abhi was nice, but lifted from MI-2.Anyways, the climax ruined the little impact the chase created..

Final words: there’s not difference between Dhoom 2 and an ad film, the difference being that of length and bigger names. If this film indeed becomes a bigger hit than LRM, it would be utter shameful n disgusting..
