Cutting the crap and letting the review flow in a word will bring me down to say that Dhoom released in August 2004 was stupid to the hilt movie with so many goof ups and only concentration of the movie was style and nothing more. But since the movie had John in it, it scored few points in my judgement ..lol.
Well for the stupidity of the bikes and all, Dhananjay recently has acquired quite intensive knowledge about technical stuff on bikes. But I wont get into all that stuff hence I liked whatever was shown on screen with bikes and stuff especially John looking all super duper on them :D.
Story to be honest is wafer thin or thin like a paper soap. Remember age old indian game like CHOR POLICE...hehe tu banja chor mein ban jati ho police, bhago pakdo, bhago pakdo, pakdo bhago...hehe now just turn the game into an big budget bike filled, babe burdened movie....DHOOM.
Esha and that other gal Rimi do all the exposing for the goonda mawalis who just whistle on there on screen expose...absolute crap from YRF...one cannot accept it.
Coming on to the performances....
Uday Chopra: Baap ka paise he is udaying.. I mean he sucks up big time and looks like an ape with so much big muscles and all I tell you.
E$hit Deol: what the heck this gal was doing, exposing and stuff trying to pretend as a babe, no good really. Same goes with that other gal Rimi.
Bigger performers
Abhishek: Well looks good with the glass and all and tries to show off stylized performance but I tell you he isnt the sole appeal of the movie coz its John I daresay. To be honest he was such a misfit on the bikes that the makers gave him a 2 min bike wroooom wroooom shot in the end where he just sits and presses the accelerator and through out the movie piggy back UDI chopraa...btw Udi chopra is for his udi udi zulfein :D :D.
John: Super style, when it comes to style John is million miles ahead of Abhishek and stuff, he looks perfect on bikes and action stuff. I think he can still improve his acting, many a times he acted wooden ( this wooden word is copied from other review..lol)
Direction was from Sanjay Gadhvi and I felt he made so many mistakes like...
Abhishek gets lift from his wife to the police station, next he has a Mahindra scorpio to travel in. Abhishek is the ACP and carries with him a wireless headset, I didnt know that Indian cops are so advanced and all.....
plus many others in technical bike stuff, which I give a pass for now. All in all I would recco this movie for both Abhi and John fans coz they both get equal show and also the music of the movie is kool kool.
