The only song I really liked was Woh Ladki Hai Kahan. Otherwise the soundtrack for this movie is average. Thats out of the way. Here are my major complaints about the film: This movie is basically about two aimless young men and one aimless young woman, who have no purpose in life. Everyone tries very, very hard to be Westernized, to the point of straining the movies credibility. It is completely ridiculous and Amir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta portray the most artificial characters I have ever seen. Also this may seem irrelevant to some people, but I hate how the people in DCH dont know how to talk. Theyre worse than illiterate. If youre going to talk in Hindi then talk in Hindi. If youre going to talk in English then for gods sake talk in English. Instead everyone talks in hinglish, hoping that they sound trendy. In reality they sound like whiny adolescent idiots. And by the way, all the actors in this movie are too old to be portraying twenty-somethings. The characters are :Akaash, who is incredibly narrow minded even though he leads such a modern existence himself. He does whatever he wants, but he cant bear the thought of Dimple Kapadia and Sid together. In true filmi fashion, he interrupts an engagement party by announcing that there will be a change in grooms. And everyone, including the aforementioned grooms father, melts at the sight of true love. Before beating up the poor innocent former groom and sending him packing. Give me a break. It is impossible for someone as self-centered as Akaash to be able to love other people. Nothing is greater than Akaashs love for himself--except for Akashs hypocrisy with others. Sameer aka Saif Ali Khan..the typical playboy. Basically he is the same as the character of Raja in the Khan-Dixit starrer Dil. His affairs with several girls are detailed in the movie. Saif Ali is easier to tolerate than Akaash, because even though his personality is stale and has been portayed a dozen million times, it isnt hypocritical. Saif tries to act as the peacemaker between Akaash and Siddharth. Siddharth e.g. Akshay Khanna, the only character worth a second glance and the only one I had any respect for. Siddarth is an artist who eventually develops a relationship with an older woman, Dimple Kapadia. When these two entered the movie I was like..FINALLY..something I havent seen before. But I was disappointed. Dimple Kapadia conveniently dies, and in the last shot we see him meeting a more acceptable, younger girl. This movie tries to raise an issue but in the end it doesnt have the guts for it.There you go. All the reasons why I hate this movie. If you want to watch a socially relevant and entertaining movie try Prem Rog, Saaz, or Mammo instead.
