I went to watch a movie in a multiplex for the 1st time and to watch a movie after 8 yrs in a theatre.
The movie happened to be Dil chahta hai
The movie is about 3 friends who meet after they have parted from college to relate to their fun loving days and to keep updated on the happenings in their lives. Its just not worth it to reveal the plot , its worth seeing once for everyone. I am not going to talk of the movie, its like revealing the sex of the child before its born ( which is unethical)
It made me relate to my college life and some of the dialogues were just the same that we had spoken in our days. There was also an Aamir Khan, kind of character who made fun of others ( happy go lucky kinds) an Akshaye Khanna , kind who was serious but would chip in at times to pull any persons leg and Saif Ali, kind who would keep running behind girls.
Its so true that after one finishes his studies, each one parts and sets out on his own to meet only on rare occasions. We do have characters like the boy friend of Sonali Kulkarni who are stupid, geek( knowledgable??)and who are more into details in whatever they do be it eating, proposing etc. etc., ( after this movies release heart shaped balloons will sell less)
The acting of all the actors are good , I specially would like to say that Akshaye Khannas acting is very good his expressions are fabulous, his eye movements are too good, it reminded me of two actors who could speak just with their eyes (Rajesh Khanna and Sanjeev Kumar) I hope Akshaye gets a few more roles and breaks in other movies.
At last Bollywood has got the right chemistry for success , the films need not be a fight against an establishment(government) to be successful , patriotism and romance sells more nowadays- Lagaan, Gadar, Border, Hum Dil De Chuke sanam, Dil wale dulhaniya le jayenge etc.
The music of Dil Chahta Hai is good and the movie very good worth seeing, dialogues are subtly humorous. The scenes from Goa and Australia may just take your breath away. A fun filled evening is in store for someone who wants to watch it . I am going to watch it again.
