After a long break I am writing a review in mouthshut...
Anyway...Dil Se is one of the best albums of A.R.Rahman.
Arr has always produced great songs for Mani Ratnam and this album is another one.
Great beats, tunes, orchestra etc etc...
The lyrics is written by Gulzar.
Starting off with the review now...
1.Dil se re... Sung by A.R.Rahman himself and accompanied in the chorus by
Anupama and Anuradha Sriram. This is one song that stays in the listeners heart for a long long time.
The usage of instruments is asusual great. A.R.Rahman sings the song very well..that is in the
high pitches and the low ones. And the chorus has also done a good job.
- Satrangi Re...Very addictive song. Sung by Sonu Nigam and Kavita Krishnamoorthy. It has the
Sufi feel to it and is again a great composition by Arr. Sonu Nigam has sung this one very well and Kavita
has also done well in the chorus. Once again the arrangement of instruments is excellent, esp. the guitar in the
middle.
From the beginning of the song to the end..it holds you...
- Chayya Chayya- Blockbuster song sung by Sukhwinder Singh. I think this song gave Sukhwinder the break...not sure..
This song was definitely for the masses. Great beats, super singing by Sukhwinder. This song makes you feel
as if you are really travelling in the train..atleast for me.
- Jiya Jale- Sung by Lata Mangeshkar and M.G.Sreekumar. This is one of the best fusions I have heard
till now. Lata Mangeshkar has sung v.well..(obviously) and M.G.Sreekumar has done the Malayalam part
very well. The South Indian instruments used are great.
- Aye Ajnabi- Another masterpiece from A.R.Rahman. Sung by Udit Narayanan and I think this is one of the best songs
Udit Narayanan has sung till now. It is not a very easy song to sing but Udit has done a very good job.
The chorus sung by Mahalakshmi and she has done it well. The orchestra is excellent.
I am not very good in Hindi so cant say anything about the https://lyrics..but reading other review, the lyrics is supposed to be good. I just want ARR to give us another album like this one..that is without computerised sounds.
This is another album of ARR that no one will get bored with.
I would rate it 10/10.
