I am also one of the helpless customer of Dist TV. I bought the Dist TV connection two years back to get rid of the Cable guys. The first year went smoothly with few problems like auntena got disturbed, cables got removed. After the first year free period over, I paid full year subscription for Dish Freedom + Tamil/malyalam package ie. upto 31.07.2007. From June07 onward the problem (STB deactivation) started. On inquiring & subsequent checking my account in Internet, I found that my STB was deactivated. On checking with the customer care I found that my package was upgraded on 06.01.2007 to Maxi. This was done without my knowledge as well as my requirement. I had not asked for the Maxi package at all. The customer care guy told that some problem was there while upgrading their system and he told that he will sort out the problem.
On 09.06.07 my complaint was accepted. While activating the STB, he had not adjusted the amount. So the problem started, I could not see any programme. On 12.06.07 I lodged a complain again. No use. On 15.06.07 once again I lodged a complain. NO USE. Still the problem persists.
In the meantime I visited my dealer and told the problem. He tried his best, no use. In the process, hoping for the best I paid three month subscription for the above said packages.After paying the amount I could see some other channels which I have not paid except the packages I paid. I talk to the customer care.One Mr.S.Das spoke rudely without any result.
On 11.08.07 I visited the Customer care personally at Noida. The helpful guy at the counter tried his best. But no use. Still the problem continues.
I DO NOT KNOW WHOM TO CONTACT AND HOW TO GET THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED?
Is there any way other than Consumer court available?
Is there any consumer redreesal form available like TRAI etc.?
