We are a very old customer of Dish TV since 2008 we are using dish tv as during that time the service of cable guy was pathetic and due to power shutdown in different areas the cable uptime was very low. Hence we decided to purchase dish tv. But then due to some problems from 2009 - 2012 we did not use dish tv (i.e had not recharged at all) and the box was just lying like that. After we shifted to Chennai as we had cable at home we did not bother fixing it.


Then I realized that Chennai people only watch Tamil channels and as long as they get those 10 Tamil channels will pay any amount , I got fed up with this cable wallah, as I wanted to see Hindi channels only , then I installed the dish using local electrician and set up dish tv in my room, I contacted CC and told them that since 3 yrs my dish tv not recharged they told that just recharge with Rs.200/- monthly pack and call CC your service s will be activated immediately, I had my old login in website, so logged in to dish tv website and paid 200 rs vide netbanking and called CC and they activated it immediately so within 15 mins I could see all channels in my room. No reactivation charges nothing.


Now as now chennai is going to be taken over by digitization, the local cable offered some crap set top box which I already refused and told plans starting at 145 rs, I know in Chennai they wont watch Hindi channels so I decided to keep my dish tv in hall where the cable was being used. So yesterday being Gandhi Jayanti I called dish CC and they assured that within 24 hrs technician will call you and confirm, I received a call after 2 hours and in evening itself technician came and did the re installation of shifting dish from one terrace wall to another terrace wall.


Now one thing you should keep in mind whenever you are dealing with dish person it is good to know basics of satellite communications as there is nothing rocket science in dish tv, just wire, lnb and satellite dish. Many technicians will fool you into that your LNB gone kaput ( the local technician tried to do it )  but as I was alert I averted this. Always call the toll free number and register your complaint so that if it is not resolved in time, you can file grievance at nodal office. Never call local technician office  / or even authorized dealer for help in anything. Charges will be same if you call dish tv cc or local tech so better go for a service which is recorded.
