I bought dish long back. I was happycustomerfor the 1st year as all the programs were paid and picture quality was great as compare to old cable J however as soon as the subscription was over the issues started. There were no subscription renewal options available. Online payment was not working, dealers were least interested in selling the renewal packages, most of the listed dealers were either defunct or moved toother businesses. Anyway, Idecidednotto renew the subscription andas I moved to new placemoved to digital cable. It was great provided the cablewala did not have power cut:)
Recently afterwatching the ads and hearing the subscription options I thought of moving on to the Dish again as the setup wasalready with me. Again the online recharge option was acting weird. After couple of days of playing with the site, I figured out if I do the recharge for Rs. 810.00 it will allow to the transaction. Anyway, after the successful payment I did not get the confirmation page. Nowadays every other shop has mastered the art of online payment through bank gateways, Dish TV(pioneer in DTH) is still struggling to show the confirmation message after the payment. How inspiring!
Anyway, somebody in Dish TV decided that I need to be on the some Khushi plan and moved me on there. I was still happy with that as most of the channels were included in the package. Now the problem started, I could watch all other channel but no ESPN. I can only hear the voice but no picture. I waited for couple of days thinking the recharge will take some time. But nothing happened.
After that I called up Customer Care Mumbai number. I could reach the Marathi option after following the instruction in Hindi and English – weird. Anyway spoke to the person and to my surprise the executive promised me that the issue will get resolved in 24 hours. There goes my Argentina vs. Germany match(not that I would have enjoyed watching Argentina getting thrashed by Germany, anyway). So next day started receiving the calls from the technicians – Sir where do you live… when I told my address – Sorry Sir, let me forward it to the technician in that area. Then another person calls me… same conversation… and on and on… Finally one guy agreed to visit my place. I had good feeling about the system – Hey, I know this… I used to deal with the same thing sometime back with our old good BSNL/MSEB folks earlier… So I told him, boss jaldi aao, kuch kam jada rahega to kar lenge. Anyway, that didn’t work. Either Dish TV is paying him so good OR he was doing it as hobby J
So, finally 2 guys turned up on Monday but without any tools. I think for verification, they asked me to do the same thing that CC guy asked me to do over telephone and concluded that they will have to come next day with tools. Till date they are not seen again in my neighborhood. Anyway, now the semifinals are starting and matches can be seen on DD, I have decided not to follow the buggers anymore and spend my energy on asking for refund J. Do you have any better idea than refund?
