This is the email I sent to Ish Anand, VP Customer Service after I came to know about DISH TV’s advt....I sent this email yesterday and I have now got a reply....go on read the story and be a jugde yourself.. THIS IS A JOKE!!!!Hi Ish and your Customer Care team, I have a complaint against your team and your marketing tricks. This comes from a person who was in the market just 30mins ago, about to purchase 2 dish tv STB’s, the billing was done and I happened to speak to your installation person who informed me the reality behind your "FREE BHI ZYADA BHI" campaign. I was in the market for the last two days checking and comparing DISH and TATA SKY’s service, cost etc. While I decided DISH over TATA sky, I regret it now. The simple reason is that you are trying to cheat your customer even before they are your customers..
I came to know that the one year subscription is only on the second connection and not on the first by your installation guy....not your site....not your dealers....WHY? For one your site says that "6MONTHS WITH 1st DISH TV and 12MONTHS WITH 2nd DISH TV...what do you mean by this? This to me means that if I purchase 2 connections on my address at one location...I would get complete 12 months subscription free. But you mean that the 1st connection is free for 6 months and the second is free for 12????? if that’s the case then your content writer should note that the correct wordings should be "6MONTHS ON 1st DISH TV and 12MONTHS ON 2nd DISH TV..
I am sure you are aware that such misleading ads will also be of interest to the Consumer forums...I am anyways posting these on CORE and Mouthshut.com and will make sure I put in decent words of recommendation when my friends and team mates talk to me on this subject. I am highly disappointed in your product and the brand especially after I saw a decent enough sales pitch by Ish on the 7th June at THE PARK in Delhi. I am now purchasing TATA SKY...atleast they are honest in their approach even if it costs me more than a DISH, plus all the dealers around my area recomment TATA SKY always...I was bold enough to take a risk, but now I know why are they promoting TS.
