I have been a 4-5 year old customer of DishTv. My experience with DishTv services has been from bad to worse. I shall try to review DishTv on the following highlight points:

DishTv Managements strategy
Although one understands that pursuing to establish customer base mandates easy and competitive subscription charges its also important that over a period of time and from your changes you do not erode the value for which your initial customer base opted for your services. DishTv not only distructively(in customers perspective) changed/removed existing subscription plans but also removed many channels that the customers used to enjoy from their original Welcome package.
In spite of being supposedly a high-tech endeavor DishTv does not care about sending any bills or reminders when your subscription payment date nears, they simply prefer to block your channels until you have paid the bills. Many a times you have to call the support even after you have paid the dues.
- Customer support
Time and again I have seen customer support representatives being not sensitive to the customer needs. They do not seem to like the request for allowing to speak to their seniors although this does not mean that the representative performed badly.
- Forced upgraded
DishTv abolished the subscription plan I had called Basic/Welcome and forced the customers to upgrade to a new plan that came for Rs. 225 and this one had lot less channels that the earlier plan with one or two new channels which I didnt really want. I compromised to this situation some 6-8 months back and now they are for no logical reason in the customers perspective have hiked the subscription fees for the same to Rs. 260.
I am coming to put a closure to my association with DishTv and look for alternatives. On a parting note I would also like to give them an(unsolicited) advice that instead of taxing the existing and household customers they can wisely categorize their customer base in to commercial, household etc. and levy appropriate charges based on the categories. This way at least, you will lose lot less customers.
