Its been years i’ve written something over here.. Well.. Accidentally was browsing forums and reached here. Then I couldn’t avoid writing this.. May be useful if you read it (not sure) !!
Well.. I am basically from South India (kerala) and I stay in Bangalore at the moment.
Basic reason to go for Direct To Home was we dont get much malayalam channels thru cables. They have malayalam, but only the worst ones.. Then I saw the ads of DishTV. Basically I wanted few channels..
In Hindi, Aaj Tak, Star, Sony
National News. NDTV 24x7, Headlines Today, CNN-IBN, Times Now
Regional channels Amrita, Indiavision, Asianet
I confirmed all the channels in Dishtv before paying especially happy to see Headlinestoday (they make everything as big news) and Indiavision (Best malayalam news available)!
Installation was perfect. They came and installed next day and everything was fine (except signal strength) !
Third day, I couldnt see Headlines Today ! It’s gone !!!
I called up.. the worst customer care after BSNL broadband.. They said.. ’talk is going on..’ atleast for 2 months I got the same story.... Mailed to customer care.. No replies...
In between I lost one malayalam channel called ’Jeevan TV’. since I wasnt worried much eventhough it was my regional channel, I ignored it.
After another two months, I saw a scrolling going on channel 925 (indiavision) saying ’This channel wouldnt be in Dishtv platform from 25th of this month’
I called up dishtv. they said ’no information for us. scrolling may go off after sometime’. Called ’Indiavision’, they said ’they havent got any info’.
On 25th, channel was there.. I thought it wont go since I saw till 30th of that month, I renewed dishtv on 1st ! In between also I called up and confirmed that channel wont be going as ’scrolling has stopped’
From 2nd, channel was missing. so called up.. they said ’transponder problem’, will be rectified soon. Waited... After 5 days called again and they confirmed ’It wont be in our platform anymore. that is all we have to say. dont ask more’
hehe .. that was the customer service !
So.. I dont have any other option than going for some other DTH . since I paid 4000Rs, I dont want to pay another 3000Rs for another DTH ! Who knows which channel will be going tomorrow !
So guys, If you buy DishTV by seeing a channel in it, Then rethink ! It may go off the next day you buy it !!
