On the way to Diveagar:---
And the day has come! We were very happy to start our journey for Diveagar.
We were four families together each having one kid. I read so much stuff from
mouthshut.com about the beach of Diveagar and so was excited too much to visit there.
Exactly at 7am we were on the way for Diveagar from Pune.
Route we have taken was Paud Road - Pirangut - Tamhini ghat - Mandgao-Diveagar.
About 30 - 45 km stretch of Pirangut is very good since its a newly constructed road of good quality. After that once you enter in to Tamhini ghat it takes around 2 & half hour to finish it. Although the road is not so good (better than pune city roads) but the beauty of Tamhini ghat won’t let you feel that. All along the way its filled with wild flowers of yellow and violet color.
Have enough food with you as you may not have hotels in between. I didn’t find the Tamhini ghat difficult to drive, although its a long but don’t have risky turns or ups & down which needs super driving skills. One can arramse go by personal vehicle. Also you will not
have mobile coverage of any company except bsnl throughout the journey.
Finally we reached Diveagar at 1:30 Pm. It takes us around 6.5 hours to reach there.
We already have bookings at rooms provided by Mr.Bhatawadekar & Limaye. Their details are provided at the end. Our luggage is taken in to our rooms by the persons available at the hotel. Rooms were good and in the middle of the farm surrounded by coconut and supari trees. Within half an hour lunch was ready and the food and service provided was very very good. Specially you can ask them to prepare Konkan special items like Ukadiche Modak, Solkadi etc. Room charges were Rs300/head including breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
You can specify you choice of breakfast to them but should be in well advance.
Bay Watch:---
We have finished our lunch fast as everybody was egger to go to beach which was just 5 mins
walking distance away.Everybody got ready and within 5 mins we reached the beach. Oh la la.. it was a clean beach without any signs of commercialization or panipuri/bhelpuri, kachara, feriwala, tangewala etc. Everybody got so excited that every body stated running towards beach and got in to the waist deep water in few mins. First time I have seen my son playing individually without bothering at all where his mom & dad is?
We enjoyed at beach from 3pm till 7pm, no body was ready to come out even if started becoming dark.Beach at diveagar is very safe and you will enjoy it even if you go deep
in to the water.One must carry flying disc, football etc with him to enjoy more as there is much scope for beach sports here.
whole day we spend at Diveagar beach and on the another day we visited Harihareshwar and SriVardhan beaches. Harihareshwar is around 30 km away from Diveagar but it takes 1.5 hr to reach there due to bad roads. Beach there is also good and a temple of Shankar Mahadev to visit.
If you are planning to visit Diveagar have at least 3 days in hand because one day trip will not be sufficient to enjoy there.
