Dont Go To This Place : if you want a private Jacuzee in Matheran

- : if you want Fancy Decor & Hi-lifestyle resort atmosphere.
This place is simply SIMPLE man !
Simplicity is the beauty of this place .
Started by one of the Divadkar brothers atleast 30-40 years back, this place is just bang Next to Matheran Railway staion.
You can experience a very simple atmosphere without much not required services of a holiday resort. Usually you get bugged up with the way resort/hotel staff Over-Services you. This place is a relief from such hostile behaviour & you are left to enjoy your holiday - which is truly Yours !
Food starts appealing since early morning when you wake up REALLY Early to a fresh expertly made Omelette / Egg Bhurjee with cut loaf bread (or Upma/Kanda Poha- a dish made of lightly spicy & seasoned flattened rice , if you are a veggie) and a steaming cup / pot of tea.
Have your breakfast brunch religiously full because @ Matheran you would get verry hungry really really fast, the weather is magical !
If you happen to drop back to the hotel @ noon , you are just in time for a lovely lunch. The food here is primely of Maharashtrian style, which may be a bit spicy for the average person. But the recipes are simply great & fresh. Normally well-prepared dishes are Butter Chicken, Chi. Masala fry, Chicken stew /roast. In veg. foods you have a daily change speciality dish - so you are also not disappointed.
I have to visit the place recently to give you any idea of the tariff. Hope that happens soon ! Although my past visits to Divadkars count this place in the most economical & Value for money residence at Matheran.
Location : Next to Matheran Railway Station, convenient for sight-seeing also.
Per Person Expense : Approximate average 400-500 per day Including food
Service : prompt & reasonably well ( not very fast though, still fine) No Bugging !
Good Place especially for : Group of friends/youngsters,
Quickie couple-outings,
Familys short holiday,
Office weekend picnic etc.
Ive tried this hotel many times ( & others too) & really recommend to the casual holiday visitors from mumbai. Matheran is a really superb place, im in love with this hill-station & it would remain always my best favorite at all times !!!

A recent look to Divadkars this January forced me to edit this review. The hotel has not been in good up-keep and also rooms been ill-maintained. This time I chose the nearby Khans Hotel ( opposite the Municipal Park) with my friends & this was place was a real surprising jaunt. Situated at an height, you can get the coolest breeze in Matheran at Khans. The food is typically North-Indian/Moghlai style & my preferred N-veg dishes were Chic-Tikka-curry masala & Butter chic (boneless). Original & perfect cuisine in Matheran , that too at the lowest ever prices. Budgets - too meagre to mention, still to be honest - 250/300 for nice, airy, double-bed room with attached bath. This is the place you can bargain even in peak season time. Location is also an advantage, everything is just within 1 minute, still you would enjoy the peace at ever-crowded Matheran !
