I first used Djangos a couple of months ago after a friend recommended them to me. The reason for using them? They sell second hand DVD’s. Bargain, second hand DVD’s a third of the price you would get them for over here.
Usually the price of shipping to the UK from a USA website puts the price up and makes it not worth bothering about but if you spend more than $50 (under £40) they ship for free. They have hundreds of second hand DVD’s on their site. These obviously change all the time depending on what they have in when you are buying. I would imagine Djangos to be a type of Blockbuster Video type shop but I’m only guessing! You will find some quite recent films on there but there’s also quite a bit of rubbish that nobody will want to buy. Some of the second hand DVD’s on their site are not even out in this country yet! Since finding this website I have ordered $50 every month and my DVD collection is getting bigger now! Every disc that I have received has been in perfect condition with no scratches and they all play fine.
My best buy was The Mummy which turned out to be a special edition 2 disc set when it arrived, bargain at £6!! It takes about one to two weeks for the discs to be delivered, they are all sent separately, one disc per parcel and as of yet I haven’t been charged any VAT or import duty. The cost for sending one disc is classed as a ’gift’ I think?? Djangos also sell second hand CD albums. I haven’t actually bought any but the prices seem to be very cheap and there’s a huge selection. Occasionally they will have offers. Two months ago they had a $2 off all second hand goods offer which I took full advantage of. Average price of my DVD’s was £6, bargain.
The only thing wrong with this company is that they ship each single DVD out in a HUGE box, well, that’;s probably a little bit exaggerated! The box won’t fit through the post box though so if you’re not in you will have to go and get six big boxes from the post office, make sure you take a bin bag to carry them in or you will have to practice a great balancing act walking down the road. Alternatively, leave your bathroom window open like we do and tell the postman to throw them through that, this doesn’t work if you bathroom is on the second floor.
