Do Beauty Pageant Contests bring out the Beauty of a person? My answer is NO! May be, they can bring out the external beauty of contestants, but definitely not the inner beauty! Inner beauty is the real beauty of a person. Here, for a contestant, by inner beauty, I meant the nice qualities present in her such as kindness, compassion for others, loving by nature, respectful to parents and seniors and so on.
Unfortunately, in Beauty pageants, you don’t get to see the contestant’s real self! It is only the outward appearance you are looking at. I agree with Abbey who said the meaning of beauty is different for everybody.
Some people think that Beauty Pageant contestants are tested for both their inner and outward beauty. For testing outward beauty, these girls are expected to dress in swim suits and other elegant dresses. I don’t approve of their dressing in revealing clothes, but that is how their physical beauty is measured and so we cannot do anything about it.
When it comes to testing their inner beauty, the judges just ask some questions to check their IQ. Same questions are asked to all the contestants. The contestants are judged by the way they answer. I read in a magazine sometime back, that the contestants even come prepared to answer such kind of general knowledge questions.All this proves to be highly artificial, the way the contestant’s inner beauty is measured!
I would definitely say, that these Beauty contests only bring out the physical, that is the external beauty of the person, and not the real inner beauty! Anyway, beauty is to be appreciated, whereever it is and I don’t like to miss any Beauty Pageant contest shown in TV.
I like watching the program. I appreciate the beauty of the contestants. Their height, hair, the long maxi they wear (not the bikini) and their stylish way of walking on the stage, everything impresses me. They want their beauty to be recognized. I don’t see anything wrong in that.
Onething I have noticed! Whether it is Miss. World or Miss. Universe, whatever contest it may be, Indian girls seem to win a title.My Canadian friends too have noticed and say that Indian girls are pretty.I feel very happy about this.
Actually, these Beauty Pageant Contests have produced many actresses and models as the girls who win the title either go for acting or modelling.So, these contests have been helpful in bringing out their outward beauty only. That’s what I would conclude!
