The plot, story line etc has been mentioned in many reviews. I would like to pen down an impression an average movie goer has, leaving the auditorium having seen Don 2.
The movie by & large has a Hollywood appeal to it. Right from the Starting scene in the backwaters of some place in Thailand, The arial camera work on the power boat negotiating the waters; to SRK entry sporting a never before seen hair style(Which suits a druglord), to the fist fights, (So reminescent of Bourne movies), short crisp dialogues; Transfixes a viewer to his seat.
The scenes at the high security prison are a change.For once, one does’nt get to see the same old stripped white prison clothes one encounters in hindi movies. Reminds us of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay.The Prison break & subsequent scenes at Berlin are well filmed.
The car chase with Priyanka Chopda reminds you of a Bond movie. Whilst the car crushers used to negotiate with the hired goons are well executed.
The movie seems to be inspird by " Mission Impossible " series, specially when Don breaks in to the ultra secure bank vault, using sensitive palm & feet pads to crawl through the vault; The Bungee jumping+ Raphelling from a high rise, he undertakes to get away from the law, as well as his cronies.The mask Don Uses to disguise;(Hritik Roshan in a short cameo) reminds one of a typical MI movie.
The costume design, Dialogues, The make-up are excellent watch.The climax is well crafted & roots you on your seat.
Do not miss the Shankar-Ehsaan -Loy music at the end when the titles are put up. the percussions, keyboard, are fantastically woven into a good orchestra making the titles worth watching
Of the cast: SRK is fantastic(Specifically his emotions on various feelings of hate, voilence, love, shrewd); Priyanka looks good as the cop; Lara dutta Bhupati has done justice to her part.; Kunal Kapoor as the computer geek is good. Om Puri lacks enthusiasm, Boman Irani has’nt put his heart in his role( Mostly looks confused)’
Over all a movie worth watching with family.DON 2 does’nt bore you definitely.
