This will not be a very detailed review but I would like to congratulate Farhan Akhtar for trying to remake such a cult film ( well, it helps if you dad s done the story earlier ).
Overall, its a great watch. It would be totally unfair to compare it to earlier Don ( except Khaike Pan Banaras Wala which was a bit jarring !! ) but kudos to Shahrukh who pulled it off exceptionally well.
I enjoyed his own interpretation of the character. He has an unmistakable screen presence and Don - the movie proves it.
Priyanka, Kareena and Isha add or subtract nothing to the film. It could have been anyone else in their place and in that sense the film belongs to Shahrukh.
The locations, cinematography is brilliant.
The pace of the story is good though a bit long winded in the second half. It should have ended half an hour before.
And the plot has been changed very cleverly in the end.
The sound track is good too. Its been adapted to the contemporary in fast paced and a-la-Shankar-Ehsan-Loy manner. Quite enjoyable.
My only objection to the film is the monochromatic lens with which its been mostly shot ( bile ! ) which by the end of the 4 hours gets to you.
On a Friday night, if you feel like a pick-me-up, go and enjoy this new Don.
