Me and and friend decided to visit the new buzz in the city called Dosa Calling in Kilpauk. We arrived there by 10.30 am and ordered a plain dosa and a vegetable uttappam. I n a few minutes we could see a lot of commotion in the kitchen as the dosas didnt turn out well. the chef was struggling to make one whole dosa properly and believe it o not, it took them one hour to make one uttappam for me, with a few carrot and beans pieces on it to make it look like a vegetable uttappam. My hungry friend had to wait another half hour very patiently to get his plain dosa.
Seeing through the glass window my friend finally ordered uppumma which arrived after his plain dosa.
It looked like it was over cooked in lots of water and it resembled some porridge. It tasted very bad and was over dosed with ghee. finallly I couldnt get this food down as it was so sticky and so I ordered hot coffee. Coffee was far better compared to all other food that we ordered. we got our food ordered at 12.00 sharp and we left very frustrated by the visit. the service was horrible and no one realy came up to apologize for the delay. the bills were confused and finally we even thought of tipping the chef for struggling to make one whole dosa. ironically the restaurants name is DOSA CALLING. yes definetly the dosas were calling for attention. Horrible experience
