“Double Take” – PG-13
A movie about one man’s identity crisis!
Orlando Jones stars as Daryl Chase, a successful businessman. He has been in charge of an account in Mexico, but realizes that the company has made a deposit of 1.6 million dollars. This draws suspicion to the client and to Daryl because it’s his client. Daryl has CIA agents trying to get him out of the mess he’s in when someone shows up dead and Daryl is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Police follow him to the train station and Daryl does a switch of clothing with a street punk named Freddy Tiffany (Eddie Griffin). Freddy follows Daryl as he is trying to get to Mexico.
Daryl soon realizes that he doesn’t know whom he can trust. He is on the run and people think he is Freddy. The trouble is that Freddy was accused of murder in Mexico a few years earlier. It’s a race against time in this fast paced comedy!
“Double Take” was written by Graham Greene and was directed by George Gallo. Orlando Jones is becoming quite a popular comedic actor. After first being noticed as the guy in the “7-UP” commercials, he has come a long way. Eddie Griffin was equally as funny as his rough-talking sidekick.
This movie has some very funny parts, but was confusing trying to keep track of who was who. I like Orlando Jones, so I wanted to see this movie, but if you are not a fan you may want to pass it by.
Enjoy!
