I want to praise this doctor who is Gastroenterologist at Columbia Asia Hospital Mysore. He saved my father’s life - literally. My father is a University vice-chancellor in North Karnataka. For the last 4 months, he started losing weight and went down almost 20 kgs. He kept seeing doctors, had blood tests, endoscopy, scans- doctors kept telling it is just gastritis and gave anti-acid tablets. Then through friends and relatives, we went to see Dr Anuroop in Mysore.
He listened to the full story, looked at all the tests done, checked one result which had been ignored by other doctors and told us the diagnosis within 10 minutes. He did just one extra test- Putting a needle into the stomach and taking some fluid out. This confirmed the diagnosis and my father was started on treatment the very next day. The treatment has to continue for at least 9 months but my father started improving within 2 weeks and has put back almost 10 kgs in 2 months.
Dr Anuroop Gogi is an excellent doctor- Listens to patients, no unnecessary investigations and very intelligent. The only bad point is the major delays in the hospital- whether it is at Reception, getting tests done or getting the reports back.
