A must-see movie for all generations

I agree this is the best movie ever made in India, technically as well as artistically. I wonder why it went unnoticed when it was first released in 2000. Luckily it’s being re-released on 14th April 2006 in 9 languages. I saw the original english language version and I can’t wait for the DVD release which should follow the theatrical release. I would surely write a complete DVD review, once it’s released. This surely should’ve been India’s entry for Oscars 2001.Research work done for the movie is evident right throughout the movie. There’s a marked sepia tone maintained on the picture throughout the movie. At times the sets and the camera angles reminded me of the movie ’Gandhi’, while the common thread between these two movies is Bhanu Athaiyya who’s the costumes designer for both the movies. There are big names associated with this movie. Ashok Mehta, Bhanu Athaiyya, Nitin Desai and of course National Award Winner Dr. Jabbar Patel. Music Director Amar Haldipur has given a great music score, very haunting at times. It perfectly accentuates the canvas that Dr. Patel paints on-screen.A must-see movie for all genres. Not many people today are aware of Dr. Ambedkar’s mission and his contribution to the nation, at least I wasn’t. It’s about time that people learn the truth about our true heroes.
