I am on homoeopathic treatment from my childhood. I used to consult my regular homoeopathic doctor whenever I have any problem but the only drawback is, its very far from my home and waiting for a longer period to see him . So I decided to see at Dr. Batras as its quite near my home. I went to chrompet branch at Chennai. I have some skin allergy and also irregular menstruation. After fixing appointment via online and within minutes I received a call from their call centre confirming my appointment timings. When me n my mom reached the clinic, there was some renovations going on but still the clinic was functioning. The person at reception gave me a registration form to fill in.
After filling, we had to wait for 30 mins. By the time few patients had come in . After that we were ushered in the doctors office where he was asking many questions. He (Dr. Purushotamman) mostly asked about my skin allergy but my main problem was irregular menstruation, he then checked my weight n after so much of questions he said that there might be some thyroid problem where we can cure it completely in 2 yrs time, its a very slow process without any side effects. I felt a bit of assurance. After that the guys at the reception told their treatment plans which were in packages 1, 2 & 3 yr packages. They told me to take 1 yr plan which is having an offer of INR 9000 instead of 12000.
I asked for minimum package as the cost was high and that guy told about 6 months plan for INR 6000. Again I asked for something like 3 month package and he started asking what was the reason n I said I may sometimes go abroad n again he asked me to better take 1 yr package. He said that even if u go abroad u can do online consulting and medicines will be sent to you via courier, charges included in the package. I was not sure and I finally said I need to discuss with my husband. That guy kept on telling me that the offer is only for 2 days. I said I have to discuss and then I will pay n so finally he asked me to pay INR 1000 for registration and consulting fee. I paid with my credit card and that guy again told me theres an emi offers for icici card holders. I said only charge 1000 rs and we will see later. He gave me the bill and fixed another appointment to pay the rest of the cash n only then treatment will begin. After coming home discussed with my husband who later showed me some negative reviews about the clinic which is nothing but marketing gimmicks. I felt cheated and decided not to go there. I din’t care about the 1000 rs lost what if I developed side effects because of their so called treatment. And surprise I received their phone call on the day of my appointment to come n pay the rest 5000 rs . I was very angry to talk to them. I told them I was not interested and they started asking reasons n this is what I said , the treatment package is costly compared to my regular homeo Dr. which comes around 700 rs for a month .
I have read about the terms n conditions which states there’s no guarantee of treatment and also money once paid is not refundable. So if I paid the full amount n if I am not satisfied by the treatment u guys wont refund the money so why do I have to take the risk. That guy started convincing in all way or other like they will give more offers and they would like to refer to a senior Dr n all but I was very firm in not giving in to them. Finally that guy got pissed off.
SOME THINGS TO BE NOTED
When you are signing the registration form read the terms and conditions twice or thrice. Better yet don’t sign if you feel something fishy. Don’t give your full details like your land line number or your job details.
When u are a new patient, your like a VIP. You will be given first preference to see the doctor even though there are patients waiting before you. I have read other reviews where patients who paid once for a package are not treated important to as what they were treated before paying.
Again in many of the reviews the Drs keep on changing every month. Yes I have seen this on my first day, actually the Dr for chrompet branch is karthika rani but instead of her Dr. purushotamman was available. When a patient enquired about her the receptionist said that she was on leave.
No assessment, no investigations, no prescription and no medicines only talking about their packages and still pay money as consulting fee.
Don’t sign up for the packages out of compulsion. ask for a day or 2 to decide yourself. the marketing guys will brainwash until you give in.
And lastly a bit of advice, any company that asks for a bulk payment even before giving service then surely please avoid those places esp Dr. BATRAS .Because of these so called doctors, the whole profession gets a bad name .
