I took my 18 year old daughter to Dr. Batras clinic for hair fall problem. I was surprised to see the form that I had to fill up. I had to sign terms and conditions which filled half of the form. The terms and conditions mentioned that Dr. Batras clinic is not responsible for any adverse results and the Patient is enrolling for the treatment with his /her own will and wish. ( words were little different but this was the jist ).
This put me in dilemma, here is the clinic that did not want to take any ownership for their treatment. I checked with the patient in the waiting area who was taking medicine for 1 year from them. The lady was not very happy with the result even following it for one year. She advised me to think twice. Also said she has no option but to continue because she has paid Rs.12, 000.
While I was discussing with her, one more patient who had been taking treatment for 3 years walked in and in a few minutes I heard her having heated discussion with the administrator of the clinic saying she had given her complaint several times for developing side effects but no one seems to be taking any action. She was also saying that she was not very happy with the result. After spending so much money, an old patient is treated like this where administrators were not showing any concern to her.
I quietly walked up to the receptionist asked her to tear my form and walked out with my daughter.
Today I experienced a health clinic running like a company without any principles where customers are wooed with ads in all media and messages through SMSs. All these advt. costs are borne by the customer paying hefty product or service price. There is no guaranty of the product or service. And at the end of all customer is dissatisfied and left in a lurch.
