Damaged my teeth: Avoid Gloss Dental, Vignananagar

This doctor is greedy and incompetent. She has permanently damaged my teeth. If this was US, I would have taken her to court. Given the state of the judicial system in this country, I am helpless.

First visit: I went for a simple cleaning of teeth. All previous dentists that I had gone to had finished in one sitting, with their standard charge(usually between Rs 500-700). She spun it out for 4 or 5 sittings, charging Rs 600 each time, and continuously made sales talk while cleaning my teeth to do this or that expensive additional treatment, although I repeatedly told her I wanted a simple cleaning, and could not afford expensive treatment due to financial constraints.

Finally, after a few sittings, I stopped going, although the cleaning was not complete. What is worse, without taking my permission, she ran a grinder on two of my teeth. If she had taken my permission, I would certainly have refused. I am very concerned about preserving my natural tooth enamel. However, with a grinder running in my mouth, I could not protest for fear of hurting myself. When I did protest, it was too late. The damage was done. I faced the consequences of this action after 1 year: both these teeth broke, as she had destroyed the natural enamel

Second visit: Despite this bad experience, Like a fool I went a second time as I was having severe pain and this was the nearest clinic. I asked her to simply examine the problem and let me know the cause. She took an X-ray, and straight away started drilling my tooth, without telling me. With my mouth kept open by so many instruments, I could not even protest. After drilling my tooth, she stops and tells me I need a Root Canal, and she has already started, and THEN she mentions an exorbitant figure for completing the procedure. Naturally with my tooth half-drilled, I could not go to another dentist and asked her to continue. The Root Canal seemed to be done all right. HOWEVER, when she was fitting the new tooth on the upper jaw, she found it was not fitting. It was hitting the tooth of the lower jaw. Instead of getting a new tooth made of the right size, without a word she applied a drill on my perfectly good lower tooth, to make it fit the new upper tooth. Again, after 1 year, this lower tooth broke, since she had needlessly damaged and weakened it, and I have recently had to have a capping done on this earlier perfectly good tooth.

In short: she has permanently damaged a number of my teeth with needless grinding and drilling, without taking prior permission. A patient in a dentists chair is completely vulnerable with so many instruments stuck in the mouth, and cannot protest if the dentist starts doing unacceptable things. I have been to a number of dentists, but never have I seen such behavior. I have spoken to other dentists, and they say this kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, and needless & unnecessary grinding is a sign of dangerous incompetence.

Besides being incompetent, this lady is completely money-minded, as proved by the continuous sales talk she gives while working on your teeth. I have never seen this behavior either from any other dentist.
