Dr. Pepper Addict

I grew up in a Coca-Cola household. But I live in Texas, and as others on this board have noted, Texas is Dr. Pepper’s home state. I read one review mentioning the Dr. Pepper museum in Waco. Did you know the oldest Dr. Pepper Bottling Plant is located in Dublin, Texas. There you can find the only Dr. Pepper that is still made with Imperial sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. It tastes sooo much better! Dublin is called ’’Dr. Pepper, Texas’’ and is put up a sign that states as much on Hwy. 377. Also, ’’Dr. Pepper Days’’ are going on right now (beginning of June). For more info go to https://dublindrpepper.com. Dublin’s a great place for Dr. Pepper lovers to visit and taste your favorite drink the way it’s SUPPOSED to taste.

I guess my addiction started, when I was 16 and got a job. I bought my own Dr. Peppers and forbid my Coke-loving family to touch them. I started drinking it regularly and haven’t stopped since (I’m 21). I drink it like water, literally. In fact, it’s all I drink. Five cans a day is nothing, I can put away a 12 pack. I’ve gotten my husband hooked and we buy it at Sams in bulk. My friends think it’s insane, no one should consume that much soda. My doctor says it’s the caffeine I’m addicted to, but I disagree, it HAS to be Dr. Pepper. I’d quit smoking cigarettes before I’d give up Dr. Pepper. It’s just so GOOD! I’d just like to issue a warning, people tend to joke about ’’Dr. Pepper addiction.’’ It’s REAL! I’m sure others out there feel the same way, and I’m sure there are Coke, Pepsi, and Mt. Dew addicts everywhere also. I never knew you could get so attatched to a soft drink! I’m hopelessly hooked and just want you to know it could happen to you.
