For people who have still not understood the status of Dr Raj in the hearts of Kannadigas... is a mere height of hypocracy.
For other film industries there are multiple Matnee Idols to adore. For Tamil, there was MGR, Shivaji Ganesan and now they have Rajani and Kamal. For telugu, there was NTR, Nageshwara Rao, Cheranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh etc.
Although there are other actors like Dr Vishnuvardhan and Ambarish, It is one and Only Dr Raj who took Kannada filim industry to its height. He is the one who refused not to act in other langauages even when he had huge offers.
More than all he was a simple man, who pulled masses. No one in the state commanded so much respect not will ever command as much as he did. Only people who have seen him from close proximity will know.
It was rather unfortunate that Dr Raj passed away and left his crores of fans across the state and world in deep sad. How ever the incident that happened on the day of his cremation could be partly due to his fans and partly due to some people who wanted to take undue advantage. We cannot rule out the political parties hand in it.
But what ever is the case, I can only blame the Government and the machinary for this. Who made Dr Raj as popular as he was. It was his Fans. Dr Raj belonged to his fans more than his family. Hence the government should have taken more adequate steps in convincing his family to keep the body for one more day or making proper arrangment in the stadium so that every fan of his got enough time to pay their last respect. Instead the goverment allowed VIP’s after VIP’s to pay their respect and deprived the same to a common man who was Dr Raj’s greatest fan. This resulted in anger and hence the fans had to revolt. Also the poilice misled the people as to where he would be cremated. This again provked the fan.
Please understand that Dr Raj was nothing but a god to his fans and kannadigas. If people in the country can revolt to demolish a Masjid which was build several centuries ago in the sake of god, imagine what would happen if their God is not allowed to be seen for the last time when they know that they would not see him for ever. What happend in fact was less. I am not defending the act but there could have been more arrangements made to people to visit and pay their last respect.
If some one talks on Dr Raj...then he is nothing but a fool. Please note that Dr Raj was not educated like you but reached the glory for his simple being. At least you have an education and please use your brain to think logically before letting your thoughts loose.
