Well let me sum up the series upto friza saga, i am summarising the entire series assuming you watched one episode atleast.those who know the story scroll down to bottom to know my opinion about dbz.
Dragonball was the first series before Dragonball z, Well goku is now grown up and father of naughty kid gohan.Series starts with arrival of goku’s brother who wants to take gohan back with him.and after this goku goes to king kaai to learn new fighting techniques.Series get too bored during this part but when vegita arrives on planet earth it get interesting as yaancha and guys gets stucked in another dimmension when battle starts.Only gohan, krillian, and mr.piccolo remains on planet to save from vegita.As fighting continues only gohan, krillian stands still against vegita and look who’s there goku! He save the planet from vegita and let vegita run back to ship.When vegita heal himself from this injury he destroys many of friza’s fighters.while friza turns to planet namek to gather more dragon balls at this time he looses many of his best fighters against vegita, but captain genyu and his force succed in taking dragonballs from namek peoples.When captain left his force to handle vegita, gohan and krillian then real battle of dragonball starts vegita, gohan and krillian make alliance together and destoys one fighter from genuy force but next fighter harms vegita a lot at that time gohan and krillian fight hard to save themselves but when genyu fighter tries to finish gohan at that time goku’s ship arrives on planet namek.during his journey he practiced a lot on gravity training and his power levels get doubled.he also aquired the power of reading mind also.when he comes outside his ships he just reads the power levels near him with mind reading and goes to battle field where gohan is fighting against death.he gives magical beans to krillian, gohan and vegita stands up and relaxed as goku’s finally there.goku looks very comfortable with these fighters so vegita thinks that he is super saiyn as he finishes one fighter with just little push of his hand.then next two fighters fight hard against goku but goku dont allow them to fight long.
Fight with captain Genyu and friza after this is very boaring and really get stucked in min for long time.series got lot of mysteries when arrival of Trunks during these death matches.and after this, saga of android and buo and kid saga is pretty interesting.
i suggest you to watch DVD’s of this rather than watchig the whole cartoon series.If you like Final Fantasy, Titan A.E Movie then you will definately love this series.
Reason why I like DragonBall Z:-
1)No lenghty love stories inside it like our bollywood style.i really hate lengthy love stories which eats lots of episodes.
2)Comedy as well as Mysteries makes this series like ’’Sanns Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’’, Just like Mihir ’’Goku’’ is hero here, and love triangles are replaced by action saga’s.
3)Action is really great and keeps your heart pumping hard.Dialogues are also ok.
4)Violent but teaches you never give up your life, Live your life by challenging your worst nightmare.
5)If you really lost your confidence and feel depressed then this cartoon series will cheer you up.
Next Series DragonBall GT is quite interesting as I think Trunks who is son of vegita and Gohan will be next hero’s on this series.
Suggestion :- Better buy DVD’s of diffrent saga’s these will save your time.and it is good idea to watch saga’s alone than watching entire Series.If you have patience of watching STar Plus Serials then these cartoon series are interesting to you also.
Please note that cartoon network india stopped showing the episodes after genyu force saga.The series is no longer available for indian viewers.

There are many more where you can read about all saga’s but it really dont make sense better you watch DVD’s than this.
