Set those turtles free! Go String....uhum...Sting!

I think this inspired the 1970’s Ben Kingsley flick TURTLE DIARY...the songs are renditions from earlier POLICE albums with a 80’s jazz spin that is now lost with vinyl.  How many times did I say to myself after enjoying St(r)ing’s version of the Hendrix classic Little Wing.  The riffs of the Fender overpower the simplicity of Hendrix’s original version - i.e. overproduced.

And where are those "others" from the 80’s? Like Andy Summers, Stuart Copeland ---- dont be disappointing, they are replaced by drum master Omar Hakim and Nile Rodgers.  The video was a hoot for SET THEM FREE, St(r)ing hamming it up with his African American backup singers--

Quelle Damage!  This album takes us into the cool jazz of the 80s and 90s and back further to Hendrix who, interestingly, could play his Fender with his teeth.

I picked up the singer’s rendition of Baroqoue Period (Western) Classical vocals (LABRNYTH) at the local Costco and was surprised to find he had not lost his charm - or talent.
