Great customer service UNTIL they get your money

If I could give Driveway zero stars, I would. The complete lack of customer service and follow-through after purchasing my vehicle is nothing short of infuriating. Initially, I was impressed with Driveway. Before they received my payment on October 15, 2024, their communication was excellent, and their customer service was top-notch. Unfortunately, the moment they received my money, everything fell apart.


It is glaringly evident that Driveway couldn’t care less about their customers once the sale is complete. Since purchasing my vehicle, I’ve experienced nothing but frustration and disappointment. The vehicle was purchased on October 15, 2024, with a temporary tag issued the same day. The car came from Wisconsin, where the temporary tags expire in 30 days. I was able to get an extension in South Dakota, where I reside, but per Pennington County/state regulations, the vehicle must be titled and registered in my county within 45 days of purchase. That deadline was December 1, 2024, and here I am—over eight weeks after my purchase—still without my title and registration.


I’ve contacted Driveway multiple times, and each interaction has been an exercise in futility. On at least three separate occasions, I was told that someone would gather more information and call me back. Not once did I receive a follow-up call. Every time I reach out, I’m met with vague excuses and absolutely no clarity on why this process is taking so long. Now I’m being told that it could take another 3–5 weeks. This is completely unreasonable and unacceptable.


What frustrates me most is how little Driveway seems to care about resolving the issue. I paid cash for this vehicle, and it’s clear that once they had my money, I stopped being a priority. Their post-sale support is abysmal, and their lack of accountability is astonishing.


Driveway’s inability to deliver on something as basic as a title and registration is beyond unprofessional. Their negligence has left me in a stressful and frustrating position with no resolution in sight. If you’re considering purchasing a vehicle from Driveway, don’t. They might treat you well before the sale, but once they have your money, you’ll be on your own.
