I had ordered a color printer from Shoplues.com e-commerce site, and had paid the full amount by credit card. The delivery details came to me, saying it though DTDC
The DTDC delivery boy called up on phone, told me he is at my door and only a servant is at home - I promised to drive home within 10 minutes. He said "We only attempt delivery once, now you have to come to our branch to collect your item. "
I rang up the branch office of DTDC by checking the number on the internet, and talked to the branch in charge. Told him he is supposed to make 2 delivery attempts : he accepted that is the rule, and promised to deliver the next day.
About one hour later, I got a call from the same delivery boy, saying " When I had told you to come to the branch, why are you complaining ? You have already made the payment, I will not deliver, you can come to the branch quietly or you can keep making calls then come . We will not deliver"
I called up the branch managers number, who did not pick the phone. Clearly, this malpractice was with his approval.
I complained to Shopclues.com
Repeated the complaint after few more days
Got asssurance it will be delivered "today"
After 40 days the item was finally returned to shopclues and they returned me my money

If you have paid in full by credit card etc, make sure you ask for delivery by any other courier but not DTDC , certainly never through DTDC Badshahpur, Gurgaon.
