We were in Dubai not by choice. I had to be there for some business enterprise in early this year. Yes, it is a glitzy place-spotless new hotels, glamourous shops with duty free items, wide clean streets, brand new expensive cars etc etc. The airport itself is like a very very rich miny city. The whole place is loud as if screaming- ’’If you have money and plenty of it then welcome!’’ Greed and naked materialism everywhere. Dubai has no heritage, no history, and certainly no heart. If I can help it I shall never go there for a holiday.
Rich natives of Dubai exploit immigrants from the Indian sub-continent who are there, let us face it, to earn a decent wage a fraction of which they will not be able earn back home.
