I along with my 4 friends, visited Dubare Elephant Camp, Madikeri - Coorg when we went on a Karnataka Trip this May. It was a very good experience for us and we enjoy a lot. Here’s my take on this elephant camp:
At first, after reaching this place, you see a line of people waiting to get the tickets for boating. The ticket was priced at Rs.150/- per head and we did the boating. We reached the other corner after crossing River Kaveri. There, you see a lot of elephants waiting for you. We did ELEPHANT BATHING which was of Rs.100/- The elephants shower some of the river’s water on you and it’s a moment worth enjoying. There are lots of kids who play with these elephants. You can do a Elephant ride of the entire camp for Rs.100/- per head.
After that, 2 hours later, we went for River rafting. It is usually done in Rainy season(July - October). However we did it in May. They make us put on life jackets and give us the boat for Rs.150/- per head. We did a boat racing with the fellow colleagues and we enjoyed a lot. We go along with the flow of the river. At a certain point, we can stop the boat and swim in the Kaveri River. After 1 hour, we came back and left the place, taking some memories worth remembering ahead.
I would definitely recommend you to visit this place, if you are on a Karnataka trip of Coorg/Kushalnagar trip. It won’t disappoint you at all and you have some wonderful moments to cherish for lifetime!
