Dum - As the title suggest is all about the guts within a person.
Dum tells the story of Uday(Vivek Oberoi), a common man who dreams of being a honest police inspector one day.Dum also tells the story of Encounter Shankar(Atul Kulkarni) who is a corrupt police inspector. Dum tells the story of uday vs shankar... good vs evil..
The movie moves at a quick pace in the 1st half and the scenes between Vivek and Atul are simply fabulous. The second half starts good but somehow the veiwer very well knows that the good is going to win and that reduces the impact of the climax.
E.niwas has again tried something new and has being successful yet again. Sandeep Chowtas music is good. Choreography of the title track and babuji is fabulous. Vivek delivers a dumdaar performance.
After a loverboy in saathiya he performs this role with utmost conviction. Atul Kulkarni evokes terror when ever he comes on screen. Diya Mirza is ok. she has some scenes here and there in the 1st half but in the 2nd half shes not seen at all except at the climax.Mukesh Rishi and Sushant Singh are good in their respective roles. Sheeba, Neena Kulkarni and others lend adequate support. Yana Gupta is hot in the sizzling babuji zara dheere chalo track.
On the whole...dum has enough dum in it to keep the veiwer in the seats throughout the 3yrs and all this just because of the young and poweful Vivek Oberoi.
