The movie is about the Dunkirk extraction when the British and the French forces were stuck on the beach in the city of Dunkirk and were cornered by German forces.
Best part about this movie is that, unlike other movies of this genre, it does not centres around the characters, rather focuses on the story which has a constant sense of urgency to it.
People have complained about the complicated timeline of the movie. But there are two very good explaination for that -
1- It is a Chris Nolan’s movie. You can’t just expect it to be simple.
2- If he made the timeline in order then the first half of the movie would have been super boring with us stuck with the soldiers on the beach for 6 days.
The characters in this movie are very good and have added to the betterment of the story. The sound is used as a tool to make the situations more and more urgent. This movie has used nearly all the same locations as in the actual incidents which make it more true to the event. If you are a fan of Chris Nolan or even if you are not, you need to see this movie to believe what a great director he is!
