Beautiful Abyss

Why are we so scared of life? Is it because we like to imagine that all of life is a walk in the clouds, a dance in the rain...this movie is a timely reminder that all is not well in Indian life...things are rapidly spinning out of control and each of the ten stories is an allegory for the darkness that lurks under the skin of civilization...we live in a society where gentlemen eat little girls ( Pandher and Kohli);

AIDS is out of control and love has given way to live-ins...so this movie with its lovely settings and dark overtones will drive you mad with despair...but then the abyss gapes always and things fall apart. The music could have been better and the bit about the girl seducing the boy as a ghost is a bit overstated...the last story paints Hindus in a bad light...a movie like this ought not to be so partisan...Nana Patekar really acts well

Only warning: Not for the STUPID
