I was booked on the Bangalore - Delhi flight 6E132 departing Bangalore at 0600 on July 17.
I booked an Easy Cab taxi on July 16, to pick me up from my residence in Hebbal Kempapura at 0430 hours. The booking was confirmed immediately. I was assigned booking number 47, and was informed that the cab would report at 0415 hours on July 17.
The driver (9972750210) called me at 0119 hours on July 17, asking for the address. I had already booked the cab with address, and in spite of the call coming at the dead of the night, repeated it. The cab did not report at 0415. I called up the driver on phone (9972750210), who assured that he would reach my home in another two minutes.
I called up the agency (43434343) at 0417, who directed me to contact the driver at 9972750210, while assuring me that the cab would reach me in another two minutes. As the cab failed to reach even at 0430 hours, I called up the driver again who informed that he would report in another five minutes.
I called up the agency at 43434343 at 0434, who requested me to stay at my residence, assuring that the cab would reach me in another two minutes. When the cab failed to reach me even after 0447, I sensed that I would not be able to reach the airport in time, and called the driver at 04:47 hours at 9972750210. The driver assured that he would reach me in another two minutes.
A call to the agency at 43434343 at 0448 resulted in the agency assuring that the cab would reach me in two minutes and that I should stay home. I called up the taxi driver again at 0448 and 0450 hours on 9972750210, and the assurance that the cab would reach in another two minutes was repeated.
I was sure by this time that unless I make some immediate alternate arrangement, I would miss the flight. I rung up the agency at 43434343 at 04:51 hours to be informed that the cab was about to report to me. I called up the agency (43434343) again at 04:54 hours, to be informed that the original cab had undergone a breakdown and that another car was on its way to me, and that I should wait for the cab at my residence. The agency appeared to be totally unfazed by the fact that it had already caused a 24 minute delay in a thirty minute journey, and had made incorrect promises eight times in the last forty-five minutes.
The cab never came, but I received an SMS (9900791932) from Easy Cabs that cab 2697 and chauffeur with cell 9886153449 would reach me as scheduled!
