Today (23rd Oct 2010) we took an EasyCab (KA 04 C 2917) from the Bangalore Int Airport around 6 pm back home after dropping our son to an international flight. Half way in the city, the cab driver stopped the car and said his brakes have failed and we have to get down and make our own arrangements. This was around 7.15 pm. He was arrogant and forced us out of the car.
When we complained to the Call Centre of Easy cab they said they would send an alternate cab. No cab came till 8.45 pm after waiting for over 1.5 hours on the road, we finally took an auto and reached home. It would have been miserable and catastrophic if this had happened on our way to airport (we had taken an Easy Cab for this leg too), our son would have missed his international flight to US. He was returning to USA after a short holiday in India.
Never trust these guys. Their cars are ill maintained and such brake failures would have resulted in a grave accident if he was driving at faster speed. His meter was also not working and he gave us a hand written receipt.
If you wish to stay happy, never take an Easy Cab. The driver was badly arrogant and misbehaved and threatened us to get out of the car, started the car and drove the car for 150 yards with my door wide open. This is not an acceptable service from an approved govt vendor.
I have formally lodged the complaint with Easy Cabs and will be writing to the BAIL Airport authorities too.
