Starting on a positive note, I used to like easy cab and use them quite often earlier. Yesterday, my experience turned from disappointment to utter shock. I made my booking at 11 am for a 4 pm pickup. I was first told that I will get a confirmation only 30 mins before pickup. Which essentially meant that easycab could just cancel my booking 30 mins before pickup and I would be completely left in the lurch. I still went ahead and made my booking because of my past positive experience. Just to ensure I am not left high and dry, I called again at 2 pm. The agent told me that the system has been updated, and I should get my cab on time at 4 pm. Imagine my shock when I got an sms at 3.55 pm that the booking has been cancelled as there are no drivers in my area. I called customer service, and they apologized deeply and told me the driver will arrive in 10 mins and gave me a new booking id 2652. I was getting very late, but I thought the driver will soon come.
After receiving no confirmation on my mobile, I called customer service again after waiting for 15 mins. The agent kept me on hold for 10 mins and then told me that my booking has been cancelled as there is no driver. I was shocked that they can let this happen and run operations in such a shoddy manner. They left me with no time for alternatives. I had to go to the railway station, and if I was very lucky, I would reach just in time. The situation was even worse, because I had to take my mom who has severe arthritis and walks very slowly. I ran out, got two autos, and were just praying that we will reach on time. We were extremely lucky that we just made it to the train with a minute left.
We could have very easily missed the train. The time, cost and severe inconvenience aside, this could easily have been an emergency. How will Easy Cab compensate me for this?
I will never take easycab again, and hope you dont either.
