On purchasing a tablet from Ebay on 8th, I got confirmation from them that if the seller didnt ship the item by 13th Ebay would issue a refund. The seller missed the target date. I asked for a refund from Ebay. Instead of issuing ano questions asked refund, they put the refund on hold saying that the seller has requested for more time. Why does Ebay claim such refund promises? It is equal to lying to the customer.
Anyways, The seller requested for one more week. Since my money was with Ebay, I had no option but to wait again. One week passed, and still the seller didnt ship the item. I again asked Ebay for a refund. They said that the Claims Department would get in touch with me. I regularly contacted Ebay again & again, but still no response from the Claims department. Then on 28th the seller contacted me and asked if I still wanted the product. I declined because the person for whom I was buying had left the country. The seller said that he would ask Ebay to refund.
Then after days of follow up with Ebay, finally on the 8th of next month they approved my refund, that too, after consulting with the seller.
Instead of immediately refunding my money by their initial deadline, Ebay choose to stick to the sellers side all the time. Their useless Customer Care department has no authority or control over their claims department. Youll be in for quite a lot of stress if god forbid you require a refund from Ebay.
My advice to Ebay -Fire existing management, and design better workflows so that customers dont feel short changed.
My advice to Buyers- Go to Ebay only as a LAST OPTION.
I wont be buying from Ebay for quite a while!
