I do not trust baazee anymore

After reading some reviews here on Mouthshut few months ago, I decided to check baazee.com I heard seen some hoardings in Mumbai last year but never registered.

Registration process was bit cumbersome, but manageable. The interface is bit crowded but the big signs everywhere make it easy to find the Register button. However, what annoys me is a pop-up window. As if I am opening a tripod.com homepage.

They ask for regular questions such as name, email address, password reminder etc.

I posted my first product for bidding few days later. It is a different issue--it never received a bid. Not a single bid. Most of the products that were listed when I did a city search did not have a single bid. It looks like mostly wholesellers dump their products on baazee. Baazee should not be called a person to person but a business to consumer community.

Now, why I don’t trust baazee anymore? Baazee gives you this option of receiving newsletter. I clicked yes. I started receiving unrealistic marketing emails from some company called idealakes.com about diamonds and dubai shopping. It appears that the emails are sent by baazee.com but in the address it is from baazee@newsletters.idealake.com

Who is this new company? I never registered with idealake. Baazee has sold my email id and registration information to idealake.com This is in violation to their own statement which said ’’We respect your privacy and assure you that the information you provide us will not be shared or sold to any third party.’’

If that were true, how did idealake.com get my email address? Cant baazee manage emails also. There is enough said about baazee and its biddings so I will not dwell on it. But I feel cheated by baazee and I promise I will never visit the site ever again!
