Me on Ebay.co.uk

I signed up to Ebay.co.uk a couple of years ago. (My username is nikki_leedsutd) It’s free to join, and it only takes a few minutes to complete.

Now I am addicted to the site, it’s just brilliant. There are lots of sections to choose from and look at what people are selling. It is a good way of getting rid of stuff you don’t want for money, and it’s good for buying things you need.

I usually look in the soccer section (being a mad soccer fan), and i’ve bid for quite a few things, soccer shirts mainly, but i’ve also bid for a couple of soccer programmes, that I was missing out of my collection. I was the highest bidder for an England shirt (£11.50), and quite an old Leeds shirt (for my collection)(£6.50).

I have sold loads of things on ebay like Soccer shirts, Cd’s, Videos, vintage Action Men (i sold one of these for about £40.00), a PC, a laptop, etc.

It does cost to put an item up for sale:

Opening Value Listing Fee

£0.01 - £0.99 = £0.15

£1.00 - £4.99 = £0.20

£5.00 - £14.99 = £0.35

£15.00 - £29.99 = £0.75

£30.00 - £99.99 = £1.50

£100.00+ = £2.00

It also costs you when you have sold an item:

Final Auction Fee

£0 - £29.99 5.25% for the amount of the current high bid (at the listing close for auction-style listings) up to £29.99.

£30.00 - £599.99 3.25% for the part of the current high bid from £30.00 up to £599.99.

£600.00 and up 1.75% for the balance of the current high bid greater than £600.00.

Once you are the highest bidder or sold something, Ebay send an e-mail to let you know, then you’ve got to get in contact (by e-mail) to the other party and decide whats going to happen (e.g. if you’ve sold an item, e-mail the other party, let them know how much the cheque (or other method of payment) will be and tell them where to send the cheque, also don’t forget to ask them to include their address details.

Once the ’deal’ is done (received payment and sent the item off) there is a section on ebay where you can leave feedback to the member, to let other members know what you thought about the transaction/experience. You can either leave a positive comment, neutral comment, or a negative comment.

There are a couple of occasions where I have not received payment for items I have sold. So I contacted ebay about these and they gave me the listing fee back. Also I have left negative feedback for these members.

Overall I think Ebay.co.uk is excellent!
